This Issue: Number Two for the Win

The end of the year was a good time to gain some perspective on what happened. During this period, I also asked myself who I am and what my place in the world is. At Presans, we know one thing about ourselves: we cherish the innovator’s  ‘number two’ mindset. It is a trait we want to cultivate going into the new year, because 2016 will be a year of innovation for us too.

In the name of Presans, I wish you a happy & disruptive new year.

The Innovator’s Mindset: Being Number Two
— An Interview with Miguel Aubouy

There's something different about innovators that sets them apart in their outlook. They might be doing everything right, and they might even be reaping rich rewards from doing so. Yet they stay away from becoming fat and comfortable. They opt for a more “stay lean and hungry” approach to business. Seeing this trait embodied in SEB is what recently helped us put a finger on it. As we wrote in a previous post: “Seb definitely has an inferiority complex. And that’s a good thing. Be number two.” We also said we’d go deeper on this topic, so we did what we always do: we got an expert to weigh in on the matter: Miguel Aubouy. Philosophy content: substantial.

Exploring Startupland:  Startup Index Quest | 1

It’s hard to keep track of what’s going on in the startup ecosystem. This need lead some startups to focus on building startup indexes. At Presans, we too believe you should build what you really need. Our Communication Manager believes you should also write about it. See him struggle with the absence of an index of indexes in this first installment of a series. Philosophy content: traces.
